Not much longer now.

I drove out to the house today.  Nothing has changed since this weekend, which doesn’t surprise me, given that it has been raining since Sunday.  We’re getting into the stage where it’s all interior work from here on out.

Brick is on and nearly done.

The brick guy still has to finish the window sills and the brick around the front porch.  Once the brick is done, they will be doing a stucco-like treatment on the brick under the front porch.  It will have a similar look to the other houses in the neighborhood.

We have about another month to six weeks before our house will be ready to move into.  In the coming weeks, the trim carpenters will be installing crown molding, baseboards, and door and window casings.  The kitchen, bathroom and laundry room cabinets will be installed, and the painters will paint.  The kitchen sink, along with the granite counter tops, will be installed, the master shower will get tiled, and the flooring will get put in.  The outside of the house will get painted, the water heaters will be installed, and the light fixtures will go up.

One day soon, our house will be finished.  Until then, I’ll keep wishing that they would move faster!
